I am 46 years old and I sold our house that my husband and I owned for 15 years and moved back to my hometown. We rented an apartment with concrete floors that were burnt orange and a bedroom that did not have a window in it. It was cold and damp and we were pretty miserable, to say the least. But I had done all of that for the sake of, my motto, "family first." (But that is another story for a later day.) Back to my story of starting over at 46. We are now renting a single wide trailer and both working hard to get back on our feet but we will. Since I am in a brand new season in my life whether I like it or not because I put us here. I have decided to make the best of it and learn something new while on our journey to where we want to be in a few years.
I didn't learn how to cook from scratch until later in life and I still only know how to cook a few things. So I am going to learn how to cook everything from scratch so no more processed foods. I also didn't learn how to grow my own food so I am going to learn how to grow a garden. I have decided that I also want to learn how to can the food that we grow. At the end of this journey, I want my family and I to be self-sufficient and to rely on only ourselves. I want to try and document as much of this journey as I can but I have ADHD and I have a VERY HARD time with focusing on one project very long. So here is to learning new life skills and finding out what will work and what will not.
Love you bunches
